Black Triangle Correction

Black Triangle is the unsightly triangular space present at the base between the two teeth where gums have receded. It appears black as the darkness of the mouth is visible behind the teeth. Presence of this triangular space is annoying, since there is formation of bubbles while talking and one can constantly feel the air passing between the teeth. This can impose a severe blow on one’s self confidence and can make you look older.

The space between the teeth in normal circumstances is filled with triangular gum tissue called the papilla. However, due to gum disease, bone loss, natural ageing, ill-fitting dental work, traumatic oral hygiene procedures, accidental gum injury or anatomically malpositioned teeth, the gums start receding and the papilla tissue is lost. This leads to the formation of black triangle which is not only unaesthetic, but also aids in retention of food between the teeth. Food retention further aggravates the gum inflammation and causes gum recession by promoting bacterial growth.

At Teeth Care Centre®, there are a number of treatment options available to prevent food lodgement and restore the lost aesthetics. Some of the commonly used treatment modalities are:

Braces / Invisalign: In case of very narrow spaces, teeth can be moved closer by applying gentle and continuous force using braces.

Composite Bonding: Tooth coloured resin called composite is bonded to the teeth, in order to fill the triangular gap between the two teeth by thickening the base of the teeth.

Veneers: These are custom made, wafer thin layers of tooth coloured material placed on the front surface teeth to fill in the dark spaces created by the loss of papilla tissue.

Gum Surgery: In cases of severe gum recession, the gums can be re-contoured or formed back using gum grafts.

Dermal Fillers: These are temporary solution to plump the gum tissues and close the triangular spaces. Fillers are injected into the gums till the triangular void is filled. However, this is a temporary fix and lasts only up to six months.

Gingival Masks: These are pink removable appliances resembling gingiva and used to fill the triangular voids between the teeth. They can be snapped in and out of the mouth on will like dentures.

Bioclear Method: Bioclear is an alternative to the traditional bonding and porcelain. Unlike the bonding and porcelain which require some sort of tooth removal for their placement, bioclear is a non- invasive and restores the black triangle without requiring any sort of tooth preparation.

Hyaluronic Acid: It is the non- surgical means of reconstructing the interdental papilla using hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid aids in wound healing and speeds up the periodontal repair and regeneration.

Papilla Reconstruction: It is the surgical approach to fill the black triangle by placing a connective tissue graft trimmed accordingly to fit the size of the black triangle.

Correction of black triangle will completely change your smile and inject a new ray of self confidence in you. It will not only fix the void, but also works magic on your face and sheds years from your actual age.

No-Prep Veneer

No prep veneers are the alternative to conventional veneers which are bonded to the facial surface of the tooth without reducing the tooth surface. No prep veneers are the ideal choice for people who have chipped or cracked teeth, slightly discoloured or stained teeth, minor spaces between teeth, misshapen, fanged or pointy teeth and slightly misaligned teeth, lightly crowded teeth, worn out or small teeth.

No preparation veneers have ample of advantages over conventional veneers. They conserve the tooth surface as it does not require any sort of tooth preparation. No prep veneers can be placed over unattractive crowns without actually replacing them. The entire treatment is reversible and one can always go back to their natural teeth at will.

However, no prep veneers are not suitable option for everyone. Since there is no shaving of the tooth structure involved, there may be a development of ledge between the veneer and the tooth where food may accumulate, causing gum infection and bleeding. There are also chances of developing tooth decay in future due to continuous food lodgement near the ledge. Moreover, sometimes teeth may appear bulky and fake due to no tooth preparation. Also they cannot mask all the imperfections and discolouration due to their extreme translucency. These veneers can also interfere with the bite and speech since they add up to the length of the teeth. They can be fragile and there are chances where they can dislodge or chip off vey easily. But with proper precautionary measures and care, no prep veneers can magically transform your smile into “Hollywood Smile”.

Braces Treatment

Braces are an appliance designed to fix malaligned or crooked teeth by slowly and steadily pulling teeth into the alignment to give straighter and beautiful smiles. They are used to rectify various flaws like crowding, overbites, deepbites, cross bites or any sort of malocclusion.

Before the commencement of the treatment, we do the Cephalometric, Casts and Photographic analysis to give you the best occlusal and aesthetic results. We are the only clinic providing a detailed and thorough discussion of the entire treatment before it begins.

Traditional braces are most commonly used braces which use the metal brackets in conjunction with elastic ties which hold the wire in place. However we do not use these conventional braces as that are older technology and the entire procedure associated with it is cumbersome, painful and demands frequent visits to dentists on regular basis. With the advances in dentistry, there is introduction of more improvised braces called self-ligating braces, which we use in our clinic. They help to align and straighten the teeth without any elastic or metallic ties and are smaller in size. Instead they are designed with frictionless sliding mechanism which holds the wire in place and decrease the friction between brackets and wires, thereby aiding in more quicker and comfortable teeth movement compared to their counterparts. Absence of elastic bands makes cleaning easier and helps in maintaining proper dental hygiene and reduces chances of dental decay up to significant level. Overall self ligating braces are more comfortable and deliver faster treatment compared to the traditional braces. For image conscious patients, Damon ceramic braces often come with an option of clear brackets which merges with the natural tooth colour.

We also provide the option of lingual braces in which the metal brackets and wires are attached to the inner side of the teeth making them virtually invisible. They help in achieving straighter smile without having to compromise on your looks. Despite being aesthetic, lingual braces however are time consuming, may cause difficulties in cleaning, more frequent dental visits required and expensive as compared to self ligating braces.

We use wide variety of wires like Nickel Titanium, Thermal NiTi, Reverse Curve NiTi, Damon Cu NiTi, Stainless Steel, Post Aid, A.J.Wilcock, TMA, CNA Beta3 and tooth coloured wires to give utmost comfort level and maximum treatment outcome to our patients. The high-technology shape-memory wires require less adjustment and ultimately decrease the chairside time.

The latest and the most convenient way of aligning the teeth are the aligners which are alternatives to the traditional braces. Aligners are transparent invisible removable plastic trays. They are fast, painless and no dental visits are required. They can be snapped in and out of the mouth at will, owing to their removable nature and thereby one can maintain hygiene. We use the world’s best brands of aligners like Invisalign to produce excellent results in comparatively lesser span of time.

Teeth Care Centre is known for providing best orthodontic treatment and we use only the best quality and international brands of braces like 3M, American Orthodontics and ORMCO to produce superior results.

We aim to maximize your comfort and and give you the best ever orthodontic experience possible!
